Angela has travelled the world over, and shares some of her favourite photos below from parts of her home in Scotland including St Kilda, Scotland's most remote archipelago, and Barra, one of the islands in the Outer Hebrides; to more exotic locations such as Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia; Bukhara in Uzbekistan, Central Asia; the Arctic Circle in Norway; and New York, USA.   • St Kilda is Scotland's most remote archipelago The last inhabitants left on 29 August 1930 and when they passed away they asked to be returned. It is looked after by the National Trust. The flora and fauna is unique and you cannot take food on to the island.

  • The little houses on St Kilda were quite primitive. I went on a cruise with the National Trust. In the summer months there is a little post office where you can get your mail stamped with a unique postmark.

  • Barra is one of the islands in the Outer Hebrides. Beautiful white sand and turquoise sea.

  • Since the ferry to Barra takes about 5 hours, it's easier to fly and is unique because you land on the beach since it's very steep. It's definitely one for your bucket list.

  • The Brooklyn Bridge joins Manhattan and Brooklyn in New York. Every year in June, The Poet's House, (New York's Poetry Library), organises a walk across the bridge with contemporary poets who read poems about the bridge. Your participation fee contributes to their educational fund, but you get a meal and a goody bag at the other side.

  • Kuala Lumpur is the capital of Malaysia. It is predominantly Muslim and the mosques are enormous, and architecturally stunning.

  • Bukhara, Uzbekistan - in Central Asia , formerly belonging to the Soviet Union, forms part of The Silk Road, the ancient route between China and the Mediterranean.

  • On the train in Norway, you cross the Arctic Circle just beyond the town of Bodo.
